Some Say it's Next to Godliness

**Warning: you may need Dramamine to watch this video.
I'm tellin' ya, I have no idea where she comes up with this stuff, but it is a good motto to live by~

And in case you need the lyrics they are "If you wanna do a job, you must take a baf(bath)"

It runs in the family...

Just so you know, Brody isn't the only one in the family with high fashion standards.
What's kind of funny about this is that she took some time to dig around the laundry pile to find two matching socks and then worked pretty hard to get them on and get a giggle out of me. But when I ask her to take her jammies off and get dressed, she immediately says she can't do it and her arm is stuck and then proceeds to lay down on the floor and flop around like a dying fish.

**And since I'm sure you're all dying to know, the lizard was never found. Kimberly was out of town but got my frantic message and actually had her nice husband come over on his lunch break to look for it but he couldn't find it. Then when Brody got home, he spend forever in the bathroom doing the same thing. I think I made him run the shower water three different times to make sure it wouldn't fall out of the shower head and still I took the fastest shower ever (except for when Scarlett was a baby and since I was a first time mommy the thought of making her cry it out sent me into the sweats...oh, poor sweet Clark) Anyway...let's just hope it's really gone, because I'm telling you now, if Clark comes around the corner with a tail hanging out of his mouth, I may just run down the street screaming.

My worst fear...well, one of them

There is a lizard in my shower. I am freaking out. I've put a towel in the crack of the shower door and then closed off the bathroom and put a blanket in the crack of that door. I'm sure the lizard will still come find me. I even called my neighbor Kimberly to come get it, seeing as how she's worn real live lizards as earrings, but she's not home. (either that or she is home and has decided I'm a total freak and has decided to ignore me...believe me Kim, I would totally understand). Anyway...if you don't hear from me for a while it could be because the thought of the lizard lurking about in our house has caused me a stroke, in which case I can no longer use my hands to type, or I'm dead from a heart attack.
(I'm only slightly exaggerating)

Back off ladies...

this one's all mine! When I came around the corner after getting ready for church tonight this is what I found:

He said he heard it's making a comeback. I will spare you the other random and crazy pictures I have of him but I will just tell you this: when it's pouring down rain and you want to fertilize the front yard, please wear more than your undies and your wife's sandals that are right by the back door. We do actually like our neighbors...
(And just so you know...I did tell him I was posting this on my blog. But seeing as how it's such a hard blog address to remember, he will probably never see this. Seriously, I think I've bragged before about what a great father and husband he is. Observant he is not.)

Birthday party!

We decided this year to combine Scarlett and Clark's parties. I know that we won't do it every year, but this year I think it turned out great. I decided on an ice cream theme since that's not gender specific. Brody grilled hot dogs and sausages and I made ice cream cone cupcakes, an ice cream Happy Birthday banner, and ice cream outfits for Scarlett and Clark. I think everyone had a good time, and it was fun celebrating with family and a few friends.

Mimi and the birthday boy
Clark, me, Aunt Maegan, Scarlett
digging into the cupcake
the birthday girl
(her shirt had 4 scoops since she was 4, and Clark's shirt had one scoop)
Maegan and Jordan showing off their cupcakes

a birthday smooch from cousin Beck
the kids table
Ben, Jaime and Briggs with my cousin Jina, her husband Brian and their third child Ben
"don't even think of getting me out of here unless you have more cake"
having a "ball" :)

My buddy

I have a confession. When Brody and I found out I was pregnant with our second child, we hoped it would be another girl. I think part of it was that was all we knew, and we had all the cute clothes! And part of it for me, was that I wanted Scarlett to have that special bond with a sister that I have with Jaime. And so, secretly, I prayed for another girl.
But God knows what we need...and on August 9, 2007 he answered my prayer with a no. My sweet Clark was born. He melted our hearts immediately, and I was so ashamed I had ever wanted anything else. In the beginning I still worried about Scarlett and wondered how she would feel about having a brother. Now I realize how silly that was. They have such love for each other, and I am so blessed.
I love love love this boy. This sweet, happy, stubborn, busy, curious, fearless, joyful boy. To get cheesy and quote a movie line, he is everything we never knew we always wanted.
Happy Birthday Clark Sullivan!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Father's Day
Well, it's Birthday Season around here! Today is my dad's day. Here are 10 fun facts about him:
1. Everyone on his side of the family calls him Bascomb. Something about a movie my grandparents watched the night before he was born
2. He is a LOUD snorer!
3. Until Scarlett was born, he had never changed a dirty diaper...and he only changed her out of ABSOLUTE necessity!!
4. As a teen, he once raced all the way home from Corpus Christi only to have his tires explode in the driveway once he got home.
5. He is terrible at spelling.
6. He is an awesome Bible class teacher
7. He loves to tell jokes.
8. He doesn't like toes.
9. He LOVES being a grandpa, and Scarlett has him wrapped around her little finger.
10. I don't think he'd have it any other way.

Love you Dad...Happy Birthday!!

Game!

A couple of weeks ago, I entered a book contest and won!  I have read the book and am now having a contest. To compete in the contest, you must comment that you are interested. I will give a number to all commenters. Then on Tuesday, I will draw a number and notify the winner! So comment that you want to play and then check back on Tuesday to see who the lucky winner is. I will then mail the book to the WINNER and then they will do the same as they read the book.

Now that you know the game, here is some info on the book. It is titled "Skizzer" and is written by A.J. Kiesling. She is a Christian writer, but this is her first non-fiction book.

Summary: A lady discovers her sister is missing. While trying to find her, she has to dig and research their past to figure out where she is. While she is researching, she uncovers lots of "issues" and skeletons in closets that she was not aware of.

Happy playing!!

so sweet
I will not bore you with the sap of how much I love this girl. I will just say that with every blink she has grown exponentially. I pray every day thanking God for her, and hoping that I am pleasing Him with my efforts as her mommy. She is such a gift!

This face

This is the face of a girl who had a lot more fun making the mess than she's having cleaning it up...pitiful, I know.
