Date Night and Fourth of July

As often as we see the Bailey's you'd think we would have plenty of double dates, but the last time Brody and I got to go out with just Ben and Jaime was when Jaime and I were pregnant with the Briggs and Clark...so it had been a while. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and had a great time. The guys were even thoughtful enough to get us flowers. We love our kids...but a night with all adult conversation is pretty great!
Friday we went to my parents for swimming and grilling...our usual 4th of July event. It's really laid back so we all have a good time. My dad grilled burgers, hot dogs, and corn and we had lots of other good sides. The weather was a bit overcast at times but we all got a chance to swim.

I actually made Scarlett's outfit without any help from mom this time (besides two phone calls) so it's a step in the right direction. Now I only need to learn zippers, curtains, pillows, buttons, and sleeves...oh, and how to read a pattern...yikes!

Glad you had some couple bonding time with Jaime and Ben. I am sure it was a lot of fun sans kids.

You did a great job on Scarlett's outfit!!! You've always underestimated your talent, Jill. I knew it was there just waiting to be unleashed...Look out world.

Glad it was a fun 4th with the fam. You're very blessed! I pray for the day when I can spend holidays with my parents and then only have a few minutes to drive home...

Love,
Lisa

Love those date nights! Sounds like fun and I am so impressed with the adorable FOJ outfit! If that is without a pattern you are going to be famous!
BTW we will be working with King's Crossing CofC so if they are there, we may have already met them- we met like 400 people so I'm sorry if I don't remember. We will also be coming your way to camp Bandina annually- it's a big deal there and it sounds like a lot of fun!

If those kidos get any cuter!!! Love the outfir great job. When you learn exactly how to read a pattern let me know. A sewing machine is not my friend.

I'm impressed with her outfit; you did a great job. I'm with you on the pattern thing. I've tried a thousand times and still can't figure them out.

Are you sure you only called twice for help? - just kidding! You did a wonderful job and after only 2 sewing lessons! Looking forward to more Originals by Jill!

Great job Jill! Cute outfit. And patterns are overrated anyway, they just frustrate me and an original design is cuter and more fun!!
I too am envious of the time and holidays you get to spend with your family! We are off to CO for two weeks this Sat. Can't wait!
