Viva Fiesta

I love Fiesta! We haven't been to any of the events since we had kids, but I love this unique time in our city. While I LOVE staying home and do not miss teaching school, we did all kinds of fun Fiesta activities when I taught fourth grade since we studied Texas History. Anyway, this year at Mother's Day Out Scarlett got to decorate a "float". Brody's mom has TONS of decorations, so she came over and made her float with us. (and what I really mean is that we gave her the shopping cart and bears and she decorated it while we watched). It was a fun parade and the kids enjoyed showing off their floats, dancing to music, and eating popsicles~
Mimi even got to come this year!!

New Dress

I don't know if you all know this or not, but my super craft sister has a new craft blog. On her craft blog, she has a new tutorial showing how to make this darling dress. It's fast, CHEAP, easy and perfect for a beginner like me. (I used 1 1/2 yards and the whole dress cost me $6.50) I think it's the perfect dress for the warm summer days. It also looks cute paired with a big belt. Hop on over to her blog and make one for yourself!

Better Late than Never

These million pictures pretty much speak for themselves. We had a great Easter!

It might be sweeter than the cookies

I previously mentioned that March 16, my great friend Jennifer had her second child. Scarlett has been BEGGING me to go see baby Annie. I'm always nervous about kids around babies because of germs, but when we took food to them I left Clark with my mom and Scarlett got to come with me. After a thorough washing of hands I felt safe enough to let her touch the baby. But Jenn who is so much more laid back than me let Scarlett hold her. I am telling you now, Scarlett was in Heaven. She was whispering to her and telling her how cute she was and how sweet her little hands were. She even wanted to take her home with us. I have pretty much come to terms with the fact that we are probably finished having kids, but in the words of Big Mama it hurt my ovaries to see my girl holding that baby. Congratulations again Jenn, Jeff and Henry. We love you!!

I just can't quit you

Why do I even make them when I KNOW I will be powerless against them?!

Powdered Sugar...

...it's what's for lunch. While it might look like I'm feeding them an illegal substance for lunch, I was actually just bribing them with strawberries and sugar. You'd be surprised how quickly a sandwich will disappear.

PS- On a separate note, I need to give a HUGE thank you to my mom for coming over on her day off to help me with Scarlett's Easter dress. I know that you could have done it much faster if you'd done it all by yourself, so I really appreciate your patience with me. I'm sure only part of the reason it took all day was a little boy who had to be in your lap the whole time. (And sorry my iron is so inferior to yours-ha!)  :)
